As long as I can scratch a line in the earth and plant a seed there, there is time!
While butterflies unfurl their inner beauty and reveals her secrets there, there is hope!
If I can still drink in the nectars of the last of summer sweet flowers, I'm alive!
Let me approach nature in wonder
and walk silently in the forest undisturbed
Allow myself to be one with it a moment
Listening to the chatter of unhurried birds
Let me listen to the lessons the Mother whispers
Become native to my ancestors adopted land
Drink in the ancient powers that surround me
Take in the few minutes pause to understand
Many feet have walked this earth before me
Their footprints of the knowledge are still here
The very thing that spells out our own survival
The mystery of the seeds one becomes aware
Perfect in it's design as God had created
Left to man to tend in loving, mindful, care
If I want to help and heal back this planet
In my hands I hold the life line that is there
Save heirloom seeds!

I'll Never Give Up. I'll Never Give In
I'll never give up, I'll never give in
Cuz' quittin' now means I'll never win
and I gotta tell you that's no option
didn't come so far to quit the race
there's so much more yet to taste
So I'm not going anywhere, I'm here to stay
There's too much left I need to say
Smell the flowers
observe the bees
enjoy the moment
listen to me
you gotta live to live
and give to give
most of all you have to forgive
it's your future you see
listen to your heart so you can be
So stay the course, not lose your way
Remember there will be many dragons to slay
It's coming down to the judgement day
Raise your head to keep the pace
See the finish line at the end of the race
When the clouds roll in, the darkened days
Fold your hands together and pray
Smell the flowers
observe the bees
enjoy the moment
listen to me
you gotta live to live
and give to give
most of all you have to forgive
it's your future you see
listen to your heart so you will be
Cuz' quittin' now means I'll never win

Where Have They Gone
How is it, how could it be
Not a walking man as far as his eyes could see
Everything else was in it's place, the flowers, the stream and the trees
The sun was shining, the air perfumed, the blowing kiss of the breeze
Where did they go he pondered
The quiet parks where children once wandered
Not even the the sweet smells, crisps linens, all freshly laundered
Have they paid the price, mere humans, for all that they have sqaundered
Did they go too far he thought
Had they paid the final price for all they had sought
The lies that were sold, the deceptions, all that they were taught
The preacher the kings and the politicians, whose souls were long bought
Why did they have unlistening ears
There were others who tried to tell them over the years
They couldn't crawl out, from under, frozen up by their own fears
Now their life is left free flowing, far down that murky stained river of tears
The bee nestled closer to the soft marigold
Waiting for reasons and the questions that were untold
Wondering why man ever thought nature was to be bought and sold
Why a species would kill off each other, for the spoils of silver, oil and gold
Not a walking man as far as his eyes could see
Everything else was in it's place, the flowers, the stream and the trees
The sun was shining, the air perfumed, the blowing kiss of the breeze
Where did they go he pondered
The quiet parks where children once wandered

I Must
There is an emptiness I'm not sure how to fill
It is as if all is standing still
Waiting for the bitter winter's release
and the song of birds in the lilac branches reach
Gazing through the greying gauzy curtains
I am lost in why and it's uncertains
Whether I get past this time of snowy bliss
allowing for natures miracle to bear again it's witness
I am hoping to taste again all of the pleasures
One by one I will seek the treasures
In every flower and tree and buzzing insect
Bowing gratefully to the Mother in reverent respect
As I continue plodding on this fertile earth
pondering who, what and why is my worth
Scratching at the surface of sacred ground
Is the answers I will search until heaven opens abound
I kick at the ground and watch the raise of dust
To turn and see and question thy must
It is all before me for my soul to take within
For every step taken forward is where I've never been
It is as if all is standing still
Waiting for the bitter winter's release
and the song of birds in the lilac branches reach
Gazing through the greying gauzy curtains
I am lost in why and it's uncertains
Whether I get past this time of snowy bliss

My Butterfly
I touched you when you were warm and fuzzy all over
you inched your way along as I watched protectively
I stored you in a jar with holes poked all over the top
and fed you long grasses and sweet clover
and placed in it a knotty little branch
You munched your way around the tender leaves
and spun your silken womb
the jar warm and moist from the heat of your life's energy
I waited patiently as you changed and became
Wanting to witness your rebirth into a new world a new way of life
I awoken and you had already mysteriously arrived
Bright and beautiful already unfurling your glossy wings
Preening feverishly wiping away the last vestiges of a former life
One already forgotten
You exercise your freedom until you beat desperately against the glass
Leaving your yellow powdered proof of existence there
I release you so you will not do harm yourself
My fingers tickle as your fine fragile feet cling to me
Love fills my heart
I want more than you can give me
You lift up and loft onward into the open blue skies
The wind tests you as you spin and spiral finding your wings
and then you are gone
I feel pride and pain at the same time
You have accomplished much in such a short time
and now I have to trust the wind to carry you in the right direction
I will never know of your fate or where you journeys will lead you
My only hope is you may want to revisit your birthplace someday
you inched your way along as I watched protectively
I stored you in a jar with holes poked all over the top

Coming Back
Time
Timelessness
Suspension
Grounded
Free
Prisoner
Life
Death
Here
Gone
Numb
Reborn
I am still here and not sure if I accept it fully.
Second chances are a lot of responsibility.
I waiver between gratitude and resentment.
In the end it was what I prayed for.
I have forgiven only to find it is an ongoing process
Learned to cry again but hate being hurt
I withdraw but yearn to shout out!
Life is strange at best and I am still uncertain what to make of it
The scars are fading but there is vulnerability in the healing places
In spite of pain I will do my best to earn the gift?
Life's lessons are before me and it is my choosing which stone to turn

Sittin' On the Edge
My back is to the world and it's onlsaught
The whipping winds stinging at my flesh
I pull the cloak ever tight around me
But the weathering storm seems to take my breathe
When will the gentle lofty clouds release me
Propel me to the stratosphere abound
And let me find the peace forever sought out
Whilst I have roamed these hills and sacred grounds
The pines secrets whispered but not quite heard
Truths scarcely beyond the horizoned sky
I dare not breath that I may listen
Afraid to know what lies beneath what reasons why
So as I sit on the edge with leanings forward
Wondering if my soul will take the flight
A circling soaring eagle shadows over
Disappearing into the crimson rays of days last light
The whipping winds stinging at my flesh
I pull the cloak ever tight around me
But the weathering storm seems to take my breathe
When will the gentle lofty clouds release me
Propel me to the stratosphere abound
And let me find the peace forever sought out
Whilst I have roamed these hills and sacred grounds
